14th Annual Snapper Challenge 2009
Hobsons Bay Sport & Game Fishing Club has been running an annual Snapper Challenge for 13 years.
The competition is held over a weekend in November and usually attracts in excess of 500 competitors, including representatives from many other recreational fishing clubs from all parts of Port Phillip Bay.

Our major sponsor, the Marine Shop, in Melton donated a Boat, Motor and Trailer as well as a $1,000 voucher to use in store. The other major prize was a bike sponsored by Salter Cycles in Altona Meadows. Other sponsors included companies like Anaconda XXX donated a total prize pool in excess of $30,000.
Whether you catch a fish or not in this competition you are still eligible to win a prize and for the juniors that do not win a prize an encouragement award is given.
